Disruptions

Over this past weekend my dad took a road trip down to Bowmanstown to pick up more jeep parts. He got a wind shield and a few screws. I still haven't started to work on the electronics purely because my dad has been busy and he knows what to do. I don't want to start working on it without him. This is making me worried that I will not be able to finish it in time, but I really hope I can! This has been a very long project. We started working on this jeep about 3 years ago, and still haven't finished it. I hoped that this project would help us push to finish it, but there has been so many disruptions, such as my exchange trip to France, schoolwork, and the musical. But, I will continue to push to finish the jeep!

Electronics

Most recently, I have been working on electronics! This means wiring all the lights, the dashboard, and sound system. While we haven't gotten the sound system yet, we have to place wires in line so that when we do it's an easy installation. A problem I encountered in the recent past was the header screws were too clunky to fit on the side of the engine. They were coming in contact with the body. My solution was to grind a few pieces down, and grind a small part of the body so that it would fit. Lastly, as of 4/19 the steering wheel came in! But before we can install this, we have to finish all the electronical wiring.

Road Trip

Over this past weekend I made a car trip with my dad to Bowmanstown. In Bowmanstown we went to a place named Walcks, and they sell jeep parts. Friday morning my dad faxed in an order for a windshield and parts for the carborator. When we got to the store, the manager, Dan, greeted us with a firm hello. We have been going to this place for a while, and we have gotten pretty close to the manager. If my dad pays in cash he knocks off 10% of the cost, which is very helpful due to a lot of cost because the parts are very expensive.
